Every year Staines-upon-Thames Day plays host to bands, dance troupes and sports displays on its three main stages. There are attractions throughout Staines-upon-Thames, with everything from Punch and Judy to Falconry and even lots of activities to enjoy on the River Thames. What make this truly exciting is that all these entertainers are local!

Memorial Gardens | Market Square | High Street

Memorial Gardens & Market Square play host to over 100 stalls on Staines-upon-thames Day aswell as the Music Stage and Performance Arena with entertainment throughout the day from local bands and organisations. Fairground rides, street food, bars and free attractions can be found throughout the town.

Cajun Boogaloo

A great favourite at Staines-upon-Thames Day, Cajun Boogaloo are a trio playing Country, Cajun, Old Time, Bluegrass, Folk Roots music from both sides of the Atlantic.

Boogaloo
Noun: a dance to rock-and-roll music performed with swivelling and shuffling movements of the body, originally popular in the 60’se body, originally popular in the 1960s.e them in 2021!

Staines Lammas Band

Staines Lammas Band are a thriving community brass band based at Staines Lammas Park in Staines. They are an extremely friendly, non-contesting and sociable band whose main aim is to rehearse enjoyable music together. They play a wide range of music, from traditional brass band marches to classical, film music, modern and pop music and everything in between!

Amateur players of all ages are welcome. Rehearsals are every Tuesday evening, 8-10pm, Staines Lammas Park (TW18 4XZ).

Staines and Egham Rock Choir

Part of the Rock Choir community which is described as being the United Kingdom’s original, and the world’s largest, contemporary choir. Rock Choir  offers teenagers and adults the chance to sing contemporary songs without the need to audition, read music or have any previous singing experience.

First Class Falconry

First Class Falconry is run by Alan Greenhalgh. He has a life long passion for birds of prey and had his first kestrel when he was 12 years old. He has had many birds since then and now has a first class team of birds including falcons, owls, hawks, an eagle and a Kookaburra. Alan has over 35 years experience of flying, hunting and looking after birds of prey. The birds are beautifully looked after and a ‘must-see’ for 2021!

Punch & Judy

The wonders of Punch & Judy brought to you by Professor Dumpling or in other words Maidenhead based, Gary Trimby. Gary has performed for Staines-upon-Thames Day for the past five years and always pulls the crowds! We haven’t put a clip here – you’ll just have to wait ’til next year!

One True Princess

So dedicated to her art, One True Princess has been performing doorstep songs to brighten up the birthdays of children during lockdown. A charming princess if ever there was. Mark’s Magic Mayhem

One of our favourite performers, Marks talents are exceptional – from circus skills and stilt walking, table and street magic, to one man shows and mime acts, he is a true star. Available for everything from kids parties to corporate events, Mark can entertain anyone between the ages of 1-100!

Traylen’s Funfair

No event is complete without all the fun of the fair and Traylen’s have been providing the excitement at Staines-upon-Thames Day since it began in 2012. Established 1949 they are a family run business which has been in operation for generations and provide rides to all events no matter how large or small.

On the River

The Thames will be at the heart of our event with the ever-popular Midas Duck Race and local organisations offering a variety of taster sessions for you to enjoy. A full timetable of events will be available from March 2022.

The Midasplus Duck Race

The Midasplus Duck Races are the highlight of Staines-upon-Thames Day and are vital to raise funds for this great charity.

Registered in 2005 Midasplus helps local needy individuals and groups in South Middlesex and North Surrey borders and the surrounding areas (East Berkshire). Our main focus is on people in the Boroughs of Spelthorne & Runnymede. We have donated over £200,000 to various needy causes, often we are their last resort!

The Charity is run by local volunteers – nobody is paid, so all of the money raised goes directly to local people in need.

Times and information for the Duck Race 2022 will be available from March.

Staines and Egham Sea Cadets

Staines and Egham Sea Cadets give young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment. Through various activities and adventures, they learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty and how to be the best version of themselves. Every year the work hard at Staines-upon-Thames Day running the pedalos for your enjoyment and helping to give more people the chance to enjoy the river

Surrey Canoe Club

Surrey Canoe Club is a charitable organisation involved with the @StainesuponThamesDay since 2011. The event raises awareness of our free of charge activities, qualifications for the disabled, NEET youth and low income families. Our team also assists Midas Plus deliver the Duck Races every year.

Spelthorne Kayak & Canoe Club

Spelthorne Kayak & Canoe Club has been set up to fill the gap in the local area for paddling. It is a volunteer run community club. sadly, like most clubs, they have had to take the decision to close this year but we are all set to see them again on the river at Staines-upon-Thames Day 2021!

Beas Cheerleading

Dancenergy was established in 1995. Sue Wilkinson, Principal, heads the team at dancenergy. Sue and the team have been offering classes in Freestyle, Line Dance, Street Dance, Cheer Dance, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Dance Fitness for the last 24 years in Bracknell and over the past few years dancenergy has expanded to cover several towns across West Berkshire and Surrey. The KIckBoxing and Boxing gym has been based in Egham and Staines area for over 20 years. We teach classes seven days a week.
